Since the amendments made to the Maternity Bill in 2017, there have been several talks around the impact these changes have had on business. While on one hand, it increases retention and enhances workplace culture, on the other hand, it slows down business continuity. As per a report by International Financial Corporation, 90 percent of the respondents said that the amendments have positively impacted retention. However, according to AVTAR Group's Viewport 2018 report, for 95 percent of the managers, the major concern is how to build an alternate resource equivalent in talent to fill in for the working mother going on leave.
