Mercer, has appointed Nikhil Bhandare as Country Leader – Multinational Client Group (MCG) for India. Nikhil will be primarily responsible for establishing, operating and growing Mercer’s business across MCG portfolio in India in collaboration with its broader India leadership team.

Nikhil will report to Sunil Rana, Partner & Leader – Global Consulting Practice & Public Sector (MCG), IMETA (India, Middle East, Turkey and Africa) wherein he will also closely work with Sunil towards enhancing Mercer's commercial propositions as well as delivery capabilities aimed at supporting their client growth in IMETA, and beyond."

On his appointment Nikhil added, “Mercer is recognized for its in-depth and unmatched advisory capabilities that offers a truly holistic customer-focused proposition in the market. I am excited and look forward to joining a company of this stature.”

Nikhil joins Mercer from ‘Strategy&’, a part of PwC network (formerly Booz & Company), based in Mumbai, where he led the firm's Consumer and Retail practice and was also the People Director for the firm. He brings with him a wealth of experience having worked on a broad set of mandates such as growth strategy, go-to-market, cost transformation, organization transformation, sales productivity improvement, and operations improvement - across a variety of industries - FMCG, retail, airlines, financial services, hospitality, pharmaceuticals etc. His client engagements have taken him across growth as well as developed markets such as India, USA, China, Middle East etc. 

Prior to ‘Strategy&’ and Booz, Nikhil was an investment banker in New York, with Merrill Lynch and Berenson & Company, advising clients on M&A and capital markets transactions.

Nikhil has an MBA from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania and a BA, Economics from Yale University.
