Infosys doubles salary of upskilled employees

One of India’s top IT services company, Infosys is doubling the salary of their employees who have completed the new bridge programmes. This comes from the organization's move to curb the attrition rate in the company.

According to a media report, the bridge programmes enable employees to develop new skills without leaving the job. According to Infosys, the employees who opt for these upskilling programmes have seen their salary rise by 80-120 per cent, adding, about 400 people have been trained under these programmes so far.

Krish Shankar, Group Head, Human Resources, Infosys, said, “We are focused on creating a flexible internal market place for our talent to grow, instead of them leaving to join, say, an MBA course. These programmes provide people with alternative career growth opportunities.”

With such schemes, the IT giant is expecting the employees to stay in the company for a longer period because good hikes have always worked in favour of employees and the company.

The company has launched six bridge programmes such as the bridge to consulting, design, full stack-development and others.

Infosys always allocates maximum budget for employee expenses, and the report suggests that the company has allotted Rs 32, 472 cr for employee benefit expenses in FY18, which is up by 4.94 per cent from Rs 30,944 crore in FY17.
