Quikr acquires Babajob to expand its position in blue collar jobs

Quikr acquires Babajob to expand its position in blue collar jobs

Quikr, an online classified portal has acquired Babajob in a bid to strengthen place in blue collar jobs segment. According to a media report, Babajob will continue to operate as a separate entity. 

Babajob is an online job search portal which operates an interactive voice response based recruitment service where it enables users to sign up and search jobs. It was founded in 2007 by Blagsvedt, Kashyap and Ira Weise. As claimed by  Blagsvedt in a media report, there are 8.5 million verified job seekers and over five employers registered on Babajob.

On contacting QuikrJobs about the acquisition, Amit Jain, Head of QuikrJobs said, “We have great respect for that business and brand that the Babajob team has built and by working together it will allow us to accelerate the profitability and growth of QuikrJobs which recently has reached breakeven.”

Quikr who is diversifying its business into new areas acquired it acquired CommonFloor, Grabhouse, Stepni, ZapLuk, Salosa, StayGlad, and Hiree last year. Earlier in this month, as reported in People Matters it acquired a local services startup Zimmber in a $10 million deal.
