When Ruchi M, a 36- yearold from Bengaluru, moved to the US four years ago along with her husband, it also meant a break in her career at IBM. As per the rules back then, spouses of H1B visa holders were not permitted to work. Later, when the US government changed its stand in last February, she saw an opportunity for a comeback. But in the intervening four years the market and its requirements had changed and she had to update her technical skills.
