Vodafone to roll out job program by 2022

Vodafone on Tuesday announced that it would roll out a jobs program 'What will you be?' for the youth. The program will help young people world over as it would provide career guidance and training to them. The focus will mostly be on helping the young professionals gain digital skill through the program. As part of the program is an also a platform called ‘Future Jobs Finder’ which help the youth search for relevant training and meaningful content. The purpose is to help the youth equip themselves with digital skills because of the changing economic and business context in the world.

According to this media report, the first step would be for candidates to give a psychometric test which assesses their needs. Once the interests and aptitude levels are assessed by the programs, jobs based on locations will be suggested to the users. Further, they will also find access to the digital learning skill programs available to them free of costs. It is a smartphone based service hence would be available to people on mobile phones.

Sunil Sood, Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer, Vodafone India, said, “India has one of the youngest populations in the world. The vision of digital India, to which we are all committed, requires an abundance of digital skills and new learnings. Over time, every workplace will go digital, creating new roles and accelerating the demand for a wide range of specialist technical skills relevant to a digital economy. With this programme, we want to prepare 5 million young people across India to be future fit for workplaces of the new world.”

The program will be launched in 18 countries in 2022.
