Nishant Rao, COO of Freshdesk, a customer support software startup, has departed from the company after his 1.5 years of stint.

He declared so in a twitter post, where he thanked company’s CEO for allowing him to put in foundations for the company.

Reverting such gesture, Girish Mathrubootham, Founder & CEO of Freshdesk used another social media platform, a blog post ‘Medium’ to respond, where he wrote a blog ‘Bidding adieu to our COO Nishant Rao’.

He wrote that, “While I am sad that this is a big loss for me and Freshdesk, I am glad he is making the right choice for his future and his family.” Further he writes a short story on impactful career that Nishant had at Freshdesk.

He mentions on Medium blog that, “Nishant has played a crucial role in setting up strong foundational building blocks at Freshdesk. His leadership played a pivotal role in the company’s journey from 400 to nearly a 1000 employees serving over 100,000 customers globally. He has also brought in a lot of structure to Freshdesk to put us on a path from being a fast-growing startup to a leading global SaaS company. In the coming weeks, Nishant will start helping us plan the transition on the way forward and in future also continue to be an advisor to me and Freshdesk.”

People Matters have approached Nishant Rao to know about his future professional plans but his response is still awaited.

As per media and his twitter post, he is likely to join capital firm Sequoia Capital as an advisor and would be shifting his base to Delhi.
