Online insurance aggregator PolicyBazaar has roped in former venture capital investor Sarbvir Singh as its new CEO as per sources, with cofounder Yashish Dahiya taking up a broader group CEO role at the Soft-Bank-backed company.

Singh, who was till recently the managing partner at early-stage technology-focused VC firm WaterBridge Ventures, will report to Dahiya.

The company also made other changes in the top brass. Sharat Dhall, who was previously with online travel operator Yatra, has been named as its new COO.  Dhall replaces Dhruv Sarin, who now leads international expansion for PolicyBazaar.

Both appointments, which are effective December, have not been previously reported.

Singh, an alumnus of IIT Delhi and IIM Ahmedabad was previously working as the finance head of teleshopping and ecommerce portal HomeShop18. He has also had stints as MD of Capital18, an investment arm of Network18, wherein he worked for almost 9 years. With his appointment, co-founder Dahiya is now expected to have a broader role within the EtechAces group, which also owns and operates lending marketplace PaisaBazaar and Zphin, the BFSI-focused technology services venture.

The top brass rejig comes few months after November, wherein Chinese internet conglomerate Tencent Holdings was reported to have picked up a 10% stake in the insurance aggregator, after acquiring about half of Tiger Global's shares for about $150 Mn, at a valuation of $1.5 billion.
