PVR appoints Sunil Kumar as its new Chief Human Resource Officer

 

Sunil Kumar is PVR Ltd’s new Chief Human Resource Officer. According to his Linkedin profile, Kumar took up this role in the month of February 2016. A graduate of the Symbiosis Institute of Business Management, Kumar completed a Masters in Personnel Management, following which he started his career with Arvind Limited (formerly Arvind Mills), a textile manufacturing company. From there he moved to The Oberoi, and then moved across a variety of sectors including consumer electronics, hospitality, retail and BPO in the next decade and a half.

Sunil Kumar’s appointment comes at a time when PVR, India’s largest multiplex, announced that it was expanding operations with 60 screens covering cities like Bangalore, Hyderabad, Lucknow and even in smaller towns such as Baroda and Moradabad.  The company also announced that it has earmarked a capex of Rs 130-140 crores for new screen development and was recently in the news for its 15 screen superplex in Noida.

Prior to his appointment at PVR, Kumar was the General Manager (Head HR – Customer Services Division) for Samsung Electronics. He has also worked with Hilton Worldwide, Spanco BPO and Impact Retail.
