Three Indians in Forbes’ 100 greatest business minds list

Forbes magazine has come up with a list of the ‘greatest living thinkers’ from the business world, in its special centennial issue unveiled as a part of the magazine’s 100th anniversary celebrations. The issue comprises essays, ideas, and lessons for the coming hundred years from all the distinguished business personalities who are featured in the list.

In a statement describing the list and the special issue, Forbes said: “The list speaks to a century of entrepreneurial capitalism compiling the doers who have created, disrupted and innovated on a collectively historic scale. All honorees were required to actively participate in the project – all essays are original, capturing wisdom from the list-makers themselves”.

The list includes three Indian business heavyweights, namely Ratan Tata, Lakshmi Mittal and Vinod Khosla. A Forbes India report highlighted the key insights shared by these luminaries as a part of the special issue. Chairman and CEO of Arcelormittal, Lakshmi Mittal said: "Every industry today has to fight complacency, prepare to see the disruption coming and then be flexible enough to adapt swiftly.” Former Tata Sons chairman Ratan Tata shared the following insight: “Be passionate in areas relevant to you, and be a voice that is respected and abreast of developments.” Vinod Khosla, commenting on how he handles his reputation, said: “I explicitly don't build or guard my reputation. I believe in telling it like it is and not worrying about it.”

Some of the other prominent leaders featured in the list include Warren Buffett, Sheryl Sandberg, Jeff Bezos, Bill Gates, Giorgio Armani, Michael Bloomberg, Elon Musk, Mark Zuckerberg, Richard Branson, Jack Dorsey, Rupert Murdoch, Miuccia Prada, Bono, Carlos Slim, Jack Welch, Oprah Winfrey and Donald Trump.
