Customer analytics startup CloudCherry has hired Rose Bentley from California-based Satmetrix to head its operations in North America. Bentley, who was vice president of global sales at Satmetrix, will head sales and operations at CloudCherry’s North America arm.

The company has also appointed former Salesforce COO Rajani Ramanathan to its board of directors. The startup will shortly open an office at Salt Lake City, Utah, and hire about 10 employees for sales and marketing in the region.

Gartner predicts the market size for SaaS-based CRM to reach $36 billion by 2017. The report also projects India to account for close to 15 percent of the overall Asia-Pacific market.

Last year, CloudCherry raised $6 million in Series-A funding from Vertex Ventures, Cisco Investments and IDG Ventures India. With this round of funding, the platform intends to focus on global markets like the Middle East, Southeast Asia and USA. Vinod Muthukrishnan, Co-founder and CEO of CloudCherry, has said that the funding would help the team make CloudCherry synonymous with customer experience and management.

“We have identified major sectors in the North America region, including retail and financial services, where the sales and marketing efforts will be directed,” Bentley told ET in an interaction in Bengaluru this week.

A Microsoft Accelerator alumni, CloudCherry provides omni-channel customer services to enterprise clients, including tools for brands to track and target customers.
