Ericsson, a Swedish telecommunications equipment and service provider, has appointed Nunzio Mirtillo to head Indian operations.  He is replacing Paolo Colella who is moving to a global role where he will head the digital services for Europe and Latin America.

This change in leadership is a result of company’s recent modification in organizational structure at the global level.

Mirtillo was quoted in a media saying, “I am confident that the new simplified organizational structure will enable the teams to leverage the synergies across the different countries in the market area and successfully execute on our business strategy.”

Prior to this development, Mirtillo was serving as the Head of Market Area of South East Asia, Oceania and India in April. He also served as the Head of Region Mediterranean until 1 April 2014 and was responsible for Ericsson’s business and operations across 25 countries. He joined Ericsson in 1988 and started his career working in software development, network system engineering and solution architecture. Mirtillo has a Master in Electronic Engineering from Sapienza University, Italy.
