Tata Group appoints Anand Shankar as Senior Vice President -  Group Human Resources & Director of Tata Management Training Center (TMTC)

Tata Group announced the appointment of Anand Shankar as Senior Vice President - Group Human Resources & Director TMTC. His appointment is effective as of 1 June 2021.

On his appointment, Anand Shankar said," I am privileged to start work with a fabulous team of people who are committed to further the cause of leadership and learning across the venerable Tata Group - the salt to software conglomerate that we all so dearly love. This is done through one of the most distinguished and oldest leadership learning campuses in the world at TMTC Pune working in conjunction with the latest and most digitally enabled Tata Tomorrow University." 

33 years ago, he started with the Tatas and his career has now come full circle. Before joining them, Shankar was Senior Partner and Leader of the  HR Transformation at Deloitte for three years. Prior to Deloitte, he was with AON Hewitt for over 8 years. He joined AON in 2009 as a Chief Commercial Officer, APAC and rose to become Global Chief Commercial Officer – HR consulting. Anand was based in Singapore for over 20 years before moving back to India to start his assignment at Deloitte. 

Prior to that he has worked in the Taj Group of Hotels, Littelwoods PLC UK, Hewitt Associates and Talent2 International in a career spanning almost 2 decades. 

Anand, an alumnus of University of Chicago Booth School of Business, has more than 32 years of experience in multiple leadership positions across the human resource industry. He is highly skilled in HR consulting and transformation, leadership development and succession planning, learning management and corporate universities, culture change & innovation and is well versed in helping manage and transform businesses and accelerate business performance. It is this deep expertise he brings to his new role at the Tata Group.
