President of enterprise business at Tech Mahindra, Manoj Chugh, is to move to Mahindra & Mahindra, as President of group public affairs. He will also be serving as a member of the Group Executive Board with effect from 1st January 2019.

Chugh joined Tech Mahindra from storage company, EMC in 2013. He was instrumental in driving almost 50 per cent of the company’s approximate revenue of $5 Bn.

While whether Chugh would be replaced is not yet known, divisional heads within the company may drive the enterprise business for now. Acquisitions like Target Group, CJS Solutions Group and The Bio Agency have helped the company in growing and expanding its enterprise business. Moreover, the company works with clients like AT&T, BT and T-Mobile in its communication vertical, which accounts for 43 per cent of revenue. Would the shifting at the top rungs affect these systems and segments?

Chugh’s move is not the only rearrangement at the top. Jagdish Mitra, Chief Strategy and Marketing Officer will now lead the growth office and look at aligning new digital technologies to the business strategy at Tech Mahindra thus expanding the scope of his role. Further to that, the vertical of global marketing will now be headed by Sanjeev Nikore, President of Strategic Initiatives. Earlier in the year, Harshvendra Soin, head of the firm’s Canada operations, was elevated to the Chief People Officer.

How would these shifts impact India’s fifth largest IT services company and would its 1.18 lakh employee base feel the ripples of change? The way a company manages restructuring at the top has its repercussions on every level of the organization besides shaping the top-down flow of culture.
