GE South Asia has appointed Vishal Wanchoo as its new CEO as Banmali Agrawala moved from GE to join Tata Sons.

American Conglomerate, General Electric has appointed Vishal Wanchoo as the new President and CEO of GE South Asia. He succeeds Banmali Agrawala who is joining Tata Sons as the President of its infrastructure, defense and aerospace business.

Before his appointment as the President and CEO of GE South Asia, he was serving as the Commercial Growth Leader for GE’s Global Growth Organization and was responsible for developing growth and marketing strategies and execution plans for all GE businesses. Earlier he ran the GE’s Global Healthcare IT business (HCIT) in the US.  Wanchoo joined GE in 1997 and will take up his new role as the President and CEO from 1st October. 

On his appointment, Wanchoo shared in media, “We are on the cusp of a significant transformation into a digital industrial company. I look forward to leading GE South Asia in its next chapter of growth.”

Before joining GE Healthcare, Vishal was Vice President of Electronic Imaging at Agfa Medical. He studied electrical engineering from IIT Delhi and did MS in computer engineering at the University of Southern California.
