NSDC partners with BYJU’s to support skilling of teachers and trainers

 BYJU’S, India’s largest EdTech company, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC), to support the skilling of teachers and trainers. Sharing a vision to accelerate Skill India Mission, the partners aim at empowering teachers and trainers with the key skills and digital tools to make learning engaging, effective and personalized for children and youth.  

BYJU’S will be supporting NSDC by providing free access to its educational content and tools to help the teachers. Additionally, BYJU’S will share its digital educational content (scholastic and non-scholastic) as free licenses with the NSDC ecosystem to equip teachers and students for a quality learning experience.  

Speaking on the partnership, Byju Raveendran, Founder & CEO, BYJU’S, said, “At BYJU’S, our overarching goal has always been to make quality content accessible for students and provide teachers with the right content to foster the best learning outcomes for students across the country. We are delighted to partner with NSDC, a proven force that has contributed immensely to the skilling needs in India. This association will further the Digital India vision and boost online learning that has become an integral part of mainstream learning now. This collaboration will go a long way in empowering teachers and trainers and help them succeed in a digital economy.”

Under this partnership, eskill India - NSDC’s digital skilling initiative, will assist BYJU’S in enhancing the awareness and adoption of its digital tools as well as enable stakeholders in the NSDC ecosystem to utilize resources provided by BYJU’s digital interventions.

Commenting on the collaboration, Dr. Manish Kumar, MD & CEO, NSDC, said, “Digital learning is emerging as one of the most important tools in modernizing education and skill training. As the skill development ecosystem is evolving from a brick-and-mortar model to a blended model, NSDC is delighted to partner with BYJU'S for the professional development of trainers that support powerful teaching and learning.”

National Skill Development Corporation, working under the aegis of the Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, is a unique public-private-partnership that aims to catalyze the creation of a quality vocational training ecosystem in India. Since its inception in 2010, NSDC has trained more than 2.5 crore people through its partnership with 600+ training partners, 11,000+ training centers spread over 600+ districts across the country. 

The eSkill India is a digital skilling initiative from NSDC that aggregates digital learning resources through various Indian and global knowledge partnerships, to enable access to best-in-class learning resources for the Indian youth. Currently, over 16.8 lakhs+ minutes of digital courses and content are available across various sectors in multiple languages, providing learners with the technology and skills needed to prosper in a rapidly transforming digital world.

Recently, NSDC also entered into partnerships with LinkedIn and the women’s wing of FICCI in order to accelerate digital skills training for youth and women in order to create a future-ready digital workforce.
