India ranks 78 on Human Capital Index

The World Economic Forum has ranked India 78 on the global Human Capital Index, Mint reported. India has been ranked 78 out of 122 countries. The report added that the list measures countries on their ability to develop and deploy healthy, educated and able workers along four broad parameters—education, health and wellness, workforce and employment, and enabling environment. The World Economic Forum ranks countries on the basis of the economic potential of their labour force. Though India fares well on the parameter workforce and employment, its score on health and wellness is poor. Countries such as China, Russia and Brazil are ahead of India in the list and have been ranked 43, 51 and 57 respectively.
