Employer branding not very prevalent in India Inc.

At a time when the talent pool is shrinking and is becoming increasingly difficult to attract and retain talent; it becomes critical to position the organization in the minds of potential recruits so as to have an advantage in attracting those with superior skill sets and knowledge. It his herein that employer branding gains tremendous importance and in fact becomes a primary source of competitive advantage for organizations. In a survey conducted by TJinsite the research site of TimesJobs.com it is revealed that employer branding is not very prevalent in the Indian industry. However, they do believe that companies with strong employer brands can potentially reduce the cost of employee acquisition, improve employee relations and also helps increase employee retention.

The latest TJinsite research report throws light on this fact - overall, only 24 percent say that they have a clear employer branding strategy. More than 40 percent claim that, yes, they have a strategy, but it could be developed further; and another 26 percent who say that do not have one, but they are working on it.
