The evening was electrifying. The excitement was palpable. The buzz about ‘Are You In The List 2015 reverberated in the corridors of the hotel where the who’s who of HR fraternity attended the Gala Night and 16 new Future HR Leaders of India were crowned. The participants who narrowly missed the coveted Award were seen congratulating their peers who won. The Jury was busy giving insightful advice to the young HR professionals who couldn’t seem to have enough of them. It was a Red Carpet event which Abhinav Iyer, one of the winners, described as the ‘Academy Award’ in the field of HR. 

The Keynote speaker, Bhaskar Pramanik, Chairman of Microsoft Corporation (India), said, "About forty years ago, people were not even considered to be an asset by organizations. They were clubbed with capital and machinery and it was referred to as Industrial Revolution. But things are definitely changing right now. People consideration is certainly on the rise."

As the Awards were announced one by one, loud cheer was heard from the fraternity in support of the winners. People Matters’ Editor-in-Chief Ester Martinez in her sparkling speech said, “This evening is an evening of appreciation, recognition and celebration to the future of HR – represented today our award winners, our Are you in the List alumni, our jury members, our partners and all of you senior leaders in the HR community and influencers of the direction and impact that this function has in today’s business context. Our belief is that awarding the next generation of HR leaders is a way to raise the game for the entire function. And if we raise the game for HR, we raise the game for our companies and we raise the game for the entire country.”

Are You In The List Award journey was conceptualised in 2012 in collaboration with Development Dimensions International (DDI) with “a mission to be a promoter for recognizing emerging HR professionals and leaders who have that spark that we think would be instrumental in advancing the HR function and augmenting its long-term business value,” she added.

Are You In The List Award is a platform for HR managers in the age group of 26-35 years, with minimum work experience of 3 years in the capacity of HR. The 8-month long process of selection saw about 2200 applications from India across HR verticals.

The evening ended in an exciting note and HR professionals were seen hobnobbing with each other on how to take HR to the next level. It was not just the winners who gained but everybody who attended the event learnt something new and indispensable. A successful script is when everybody goes home happy – and this Award epitomised just that!
