Every established company was once a startup, and more often than not, it is a new entrant in the market that challenges the traditional ways of working. 

With the speed and scale of disruptions happening in the HR technology space, there has been an emergence of TechHR startups that have the potential to transform the way HR and businesses function. In view of this, People Matters, in association with The HR Fund, presented the Spotlight Awards 2016 during the TechHR ’16 event in Gurgaon. 

More than 120 startups participated and went through a robust 2-stage process. The applications were judged on three broad parameters – Impact on business, Innovation and Scalability. 13 products were shortlisted as finalists out of which six were adjudged to be a part of the coveted Spotlight Awards List 2016. 

Below are the winners of the Spotlight Awards 2016, their products, and the business problem they are solving:

1. Core Integra

Core Integra Consulting Services Private Limited is a HR Technology Company, with a focus on creating practical Technology Solutions in the domain of Human Resource Management.  Their Labour Law Compliance Management Software Platform covers the entire HR Compliance domain, right from licenses to remittances.  The software has certain automated processes such as salary and attendance data, creation of registers (both in English and local languages), etc.  and also has a digital repository for licenses and registrations, abstracts and notices, returns,  audit reports and audit checklists. They also provide last mile reach for managing compliance and remittance deposition on the ground. Core Integra is currently handling compliance services in over 300 locations all over India.

2. Greenlatte

Greenlatte is a people development company that aims to help people become better through the power of coaching. The company has worked with firms like Shoppers Stop, Accenture, Vodafone, Arcelor Mittal and several others. It has also been awarded by World Coaching Congress as leading transformers in the space of coaching. Twelveweek.com is Greenlatte’s product which aims to provide affordable coaching to organizations with a large work force. The platform is designed to help individuals and organizations define their goals and work consistently towards it. The product helps participants learn from peers, adopt what they think will work for them and implement it, driving a continuously learning culture. Twelveweek.com employs internationally certified coaches and their expertise is leveraged f individuals and companies. 

3. Giftxoxo

Incepted in 2012 Giftxoxo today is one of the biggest Employee Appreciation and Rewards Platform of India. Giftxoxo created a Giftxoxo Enterprise which is a SaaS based Total rewards platform which can help employees accumulate rewards throughout the employee life cycle. This platform, which has now become an innovative concept, is an experience based reward systems for corporations within India and as of today has the largest collection of such experience-oriented rewards. These are spread across six categories – adventure, gourmet, health & wellness, tours and getaways, arts & learning and philanthropy. Some examples of this have been Microlight plane flying, a Bollywood film tour, a Horse riding session, Yacht dining, Pottery class and more.

4.  nfactorial Analytics

n!Gage is a platform created by nfactorial Analytics which focuses on real time employee engagement. As an app n!Gage uses a survey mechanism to identify informal networks that exist within organizations. It enables users to visualize networks and gain valuable insights on the workforce of the company. By creating multiple feedback options with employees, n!Gage as a platform helps employers understand the problems that employees are facing on a regular basis. n!Gage uses continuous, pulsed questions allied to dashboarding and powerful text analytics to provide actionable insights to managers at every level. This is conducted in a periodic manner to help create engagement within employees and helps employers to listen, understand and act on employee feedback using real-time actionable insights

5. Tharakan Web solutions

Myeasydocs is a web based platform created by Tharakan Web Innovations Pvt. Ltd. With the aim of providing a platform that helps companies run background checks and verify the authenticity of the various documents like education certificates that employees provide. The product is similar to a digital wallet with the exception that instead a form of currency, it contain the important documents of an employee. By creating connections with multiple institutions, Myeasydocs provides a convenient and fast paced document authentication process. The process also allows employees to create an online backup of their documents through which they can share certified information with other entities. Myeasydocs helps in connecting organizations directly to the document issuer (e.g. University, Bank) to ensure that the document submitted by the employees is genuine, while also creating a wallet to share digitally certified documents.

6. Truworth Wellness 

It is an online platform for engaging the employees towards a sustainable healthy behavior leading to total wellness. The key features of the product are –

  • Assessment via Health Risk Assessment (HRA)
  • Education and Awareness towards Healthy Behavior through nutrition, fitness and health coaching 
  • Sustained engagement through guided programs and socialization 
  • Rewards & Recognition
  • Disease Management 
  • Pregnancy Care 
  • Healthy Lifestyle 
  • Emotional Counseling and Happy Minds

Truworth currently reaches out to more than a million employees from more than 100 corporates, including some of the leading names from the industry. Truworth was co-founded by Rajesh Mundra (CEO) and Rohit Mundra (Director – Product Development) in 2008. 

The Spotlight Awards 2016 were given to the winners by the Jury members who formed an integral part of the assessment process.
