Learning turned out to be the top-rated challenge among 2019’s Global Human Capital Trends, as per Deloitte. As the world of work gets more complex and the uncertainty regarding the future reaches an all time high, more and more organizations acknowledge the demand for focusing on Learning and Development(L&D).
L&D is critical, not only for employers, but even job seekers choose “opportunity to learn” as among their top reasons for taking a job. To grow under volatile conditions, organizations and workforce needs to put a dedicated effort to learn quickly, implement that learning rapidly, and adapt constantly to be ready for the future.
Many organizations are, hence taking steps to deliver learning to their people more effectively and looking for ways to further improve current learning solutions and create a learning environment at work. Some of these companies which have been able to strike a chord with their employees with an effective Learning & Development model, and are solving learning challenges resulting in increased ROI, will be recognized in the upcoming People Matters L&D Conference 2019.
People Matters L&D Awards 2019 is back to appreciate and recognize the efforts of the HR and L&D leaders of organizations, which are not only transforming the careers and lives of their employees but are also inspiring other companies to do great work.

Companies such as Infosys, Genpact, Pepsico, Apollo, Kotak Mahindra, Viacom 18 Media Pvt. Ltd and many others have participated in the awards previously.
Some of last year’s winners include India Infoline Finance Limited, Zensar, Raymond Limited and JLT India Pvt. Ltd.

The People Matters L&D awards 2019 includes five categories:

Under this award category, the search is on for the most business relevant on-boarding learning program that has drastically reduced the time taken by entry-level hires in becoming productive on the job. Last year, India Infoline Finance Limited had won in this segment.
Best in future tech skill building
In this 4th Industrial revolutionary era driven by digital transformation, organizations are struggling with managing the need for skilling (be that up-skilling or re-skilling) for the skills of the future. Under this category, practices that organizations are adapting for future-proofing their organizations with the change in technology trends will be recognized. Last year, Zensar Technologies Limited, a software and services company, won the award for Best in future tech skill building.
Best in L&D technology and analytics
Today organizations themselves invest in skill development courses for their employees so that they are up to date. But are their L&D programs relevant? Have they been able to create the expected impact? These questions often remain unanswered. Hence, to enhance the impact of learning & development programs, many organizations today are leveraging technology (proprietary or market available). This category of awards will, therefore, recognize the excellence of organizations in L&D technology and analytics. Raymond Limited had last year conquered this award category.
Best in building self-learning culture
Deloitte’s latest Global Human Capital Trend report emphasizes that organizations must work to instill an end-to-end cultural focus on learning, from the top of the organization to its bottom, if they want to meet the talent challenges that lie ahead. As building a self-learning culture becomes more important, there is also a need to recognize efforts and best practices that leads to such a culture. This award category focuses on learning how some organizations have been able to build a self-learning culture and will recognize excellence in creating a pervasive culture of self-learning that drives speed, performance, and results. Last year, JLT India Pvt Ltd had won this award.
