Jyothy Labs Limited, formerly known as Jyothy Laboratories Limited, has appointed MR Jyothy as the Managing Director of the company. 

She is the elder daughter of Founder Chairman and MD of the company, M P Ramachandran. She has been entrusted with the roles and responsibilities of the Managing Director of Jyothy Labs with effect from April 1, 2020. His younger daughter, MR Deepthi would be the whole-time director.

Being associated with Jyothy Labs for 15 years, her expertise lies in marketing and brand communication. In her last held designation, she was the whole time Director and Chief Marketing Officer, where she played an instrumental role in integrating  brands like Henko, Pril and Margo. 

Commenting on the development, Ramachandran said, “I am very happy that the next generation is ready to take charge... I am very confident that my daughter MR Jyothy as managing director will deliver results to all the stakeholders of the company.”

On asking about her plan of action for this new role, Jyothy  said, “My top priorities will be to strengthen our power brands on all fronts. Innovation will continue to be at the forefront of new product development initiatives. Building sales & distribution network will remain a top priority.”

Independent director R Lakshminarayanan will take over as chairman of the board while Ramachandran will be chairman emeritus.

As the Chairman emeritus hands over the reins to his daughter, the expectation from Jyothy would be to leverage her acumen in growing the business further, especially during these testing times.
