WeWork India hires Ex-SoftBank India country head Manoj Kohli as an independent director

WeWork India has appointed Manoj Kohli as an independent director to its Board. Besides Kohli, Anthony Yazbeck, president and chief operating officer, WeWork Inc., has also joined the Board.

Former country head – Softbank India, Kohli comes with more than 43 years of global work experience across industries, including manufacturing, telecom, renewable energy, and digital sectors.

As country head of SoftBank, Kohli supported SoftBank Group and Vision Fund as one of the largest investors of $15bn in over 25 AI-focused portfolio companies in India. 

Before Softbank, Kohli served on the board of GSMA, he was on the Board of GSMA in 2008 and 2012 and the Chairman, the CII Task Force on Ease of Doing Business and Chair of CII Unicorn Forum for attracting new tech investments in India. He has experience working across geographies.

Kohli started his career in HR in 1979 with the DCM Shriram and held business leadership positions in foods, chemicals, refrigeration and Honda JV etc. After 16 years in the manufacturing sector,he led a mobile startup Escotel to achieve market leadership in 3 important markets in India.
