Aditya Birla Group has roped in Sangeeta Pendurkar to be the CEO of its Pantaloons Fashion Retail. Pendurkar was the former MD at Kellogg India, reported a news publication.

"She had the right experience in consumer-facing businesses like banking, food, FMCG," Santrupt Misra, Director, Group HR, at Aditya Birla Group was quoted saying in the media.

Pendurkar had in June 2017 quit as Managing Director, India & South Asia, at multinational food manufacturing company Kellogg. Earlier, she also held senior management roles at Coca-Cola India and HSBC Bank. 

The position was left vacant after Shital Mehta had resigned from lifestyle apparel retail division as the CEO in September to join Max Fashion in India. Pendurkar will be reporting to the Business Head of the division Ashish Dikshit, the company said in BSE filing.

Pendurkar has also been listed in Fortune's most powerful women in business for 4 consecutive years from 2011-2014.

Pendurkar holds a graduate degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences & a management degree in Marketing. She has over 25 years of Marketing, Sales & General Management experience, spanning across sectors of packaged foods, beverages, financial services and pharmaceuticals.
