Aspiring Minds raises Series A Funding

Aspiring Minds, an employability assessment company, announced it has raised series A funding from Omidyar Network. Jayant Sinha, Partner, Omidyar Network India, will join the Board of Directors. Aspiring Minds will use the funding to extend its offerings to new verticals and expand to new geographies. Aspiring Minds' Computer Adaptive Test (AMCAT), the company's flagship product, provides standardized employability benchmarks to students and enables employers to evaluate students for effective job placement. Already widely used within India's information technology sector, the funds will enable Aspiring Minds to scale their reach in sectors such as BFSI, retail and hospitality industries.

Founded by IIT alumnus Himanshu Aggrarwal and MIT graduate Varun Aggarwal, the four year old Gurgaon based start up uses skill analysis and artificial intelligence to help graduates choose the right job profile. The investment will help the company reach out to 40 million pre university and graduates job seekers allowing them to quantify their employability and secure right jobs. The start-up provides recruitment solutions to 75 companies including HCL, TCS, SBI Life.
