Santanu Banerjee joins Bajaj Allianz Life as Chief Human Resource Officer, effective from May 2020. Prior to joining, he was working as Executive Vice President & CHRO at Star Union Dai-ichi Life Insurance Co. Ltd. 

In his entire career of more than 20 years, Banerjee has spent maximum time working with Aditya Birla Group. In his 10 years long tenure with Aditya Birla Group, from 2008 to 2018, he managed people agenda for various businesses for the group. In fact he was the engineering force behind the set-up of Aditya Birla Health Insurance (ABHI). He helped build a workforce of 1,700 employees, 12,000 distributors, 60 branches spanning 36 locations in one year's time frame.

Banerjee has also worked in other companies like ING Vysya Life Insurance, IMRB International, and Hathway Cable & Datacom Ltd. 

At Bajaj Allianz Life, Banerjee replaces Ruben Selvadoray who had been heading the HR function for the company for more than three years. Banerjee joins the life insurance company during a critical phase, when the role of talent leader is more important than ever. Managing the employee experience in time of a pandemic, transitioning to the new normal of work and supporting company’s business with great talent as life insurance business also transforms, could be some of the key focus areas for the new CHRO.
