Mergers & Acquisitions at an all time high

With the market economy booming in the country, mergers and acquisitions (M&A) are seeing an all time high. A report released by global firm Dealogic reveals that the total value of deals from M&A in the country, amounted to a whopping $934.3 billion this year. Incidentally this has been the highest in four years.

With the market economy booming in the country, mergers and acquisitions (M&A) are seeing an all time high. A report released by global firm Dealogic reveals that the total value of deals from M&A in the country, amounted to a whopping $934.3 billion this year. Incidentally this has been the highest in four years.

The report also said that Morgan Stanley leads the April 2011 M&A volume ranking with $40.7 billion and Lazard follows with $32.9 billion. Industry wise, the telecom sector was the most targeted sector and accounted for $110.2 billion announced deals so far this year.

The average deal size for M&A transactions in April, 2011 is $262 million, which is the highest monthly average since May 2007, when it was at $264 million.
