Myntra appoints ex-Walmart Labs exec as new CPO

Online fashion retailer, Myntra, has named Lalitha Ramani as the company’s chief product officer. Ramani will be responsible for driving product direction and finding innovative ways to better serve Myntra’s customers, as per a company statement.

Amar Nagaram, CEO of Myntra stated, “Lalitha’s broad product expertise and experience across industries will add immensely to the strength of Myntra’s leadership team. We are currently at a very exciting phase of growth, leading the market with superior innovation in consumer engagement and product development, as we cater to all the fashion and lifestyle needs of shoppers in India. I look forward to working with her to strengthen our product proposition.”

Ramani has over two decades of experience in product management, spanning product strategy, brand building, revenue generation, mentoring top talent, including women in technology and more, with leading MNCs. Her expertise also includes launching new products and expanding existing product and business portfolios across domains like ecommerce, accounting and supply chain management.

In her most recent role, Ramani was Senior Director of Product Management at Walmart Labs, where she was spearheading leading product and design teams, helping millions of omnichannel customers across the UK, Canada and Mexico markets save time and money. Prior to Walmart, Ramani has worked with firms such as Intuit, Wipro, Sterling Commerce, and i2 Technologies.

Ramani is an alumnus of the Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta. Her appointment comes at a time when the fashion e-tailer is looking to ramp up its business affected by the lockdown situation on account of COVID-19. The ecommerce sector has also been severely impacted and the firm is hoping to leverage Ramani’s vast experience in order to boost business.
