India Inc. reviews fuel reimbursement

The frequency with which fuel prices are increasing is worrying India Inc. as much as it worries the common consumer. It is in this context that Mercer conducted a survey to understand the impact of frequent hikes on the company’s vehicle claims and fuel reimbursement policy. The survey brings forth interesting insights; around 21 percent of companies are making changes in their vehicle benefit policy while 35 percent of the companies who participated in the survey were considering revisions if the market leader revise their benefits. According to media reports, while companies such as Wipro, Aegis, Intel, and Ashok Leyland, have revised their benefits owing to the increase in fuel prices; there are companies such as Bluestar and Volvo, which are in the process of reviewing their fuel reimbursement policies.
