Hyundai brokers deal with striking workers

Hyundai Motor India Ltd., whose workers had gone on strike has brokered a deal with the company’s labor union wherein it would reinstate some of the dismissed workmen based on the recommendation of the Labor Commissioner. The workers, in return, have accepted the terms set by the company on wage revision and have promised to return to work. The resolution of the dispute between the company and the workers came after intervention by the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu where the dispute took place. As per the terms of the agreement, the management has promised to revoke punitive action taken by the management against workers since the formation of labor union in 2007
