New Delhi: Paytm employees are being showered with appreciation and gratitude, and how! The Noida-based firm has gifted iPad Air to its 150 top-perfoming workers. These rewards are being given to employees cutting across all verticals who have been in the firm for more than five years.

Paytm recently acquired online marketplace for hyperlocal services Near.in in a cash-stock deak worth $1.5 million. In September this year, the company also received about $680 million funding from Alibaba Group and $575 million from Alibaba’s affiliate Ant Financial. Paytm got approval from the Reserve Bank of India for a payment bank in October.

Paytm which has over 4,500 employees, increased their reward budget this year to about $3 million from $1 million last year.

Amit Sinha, senior V-P, Paytm said to a news publication, “Our veteran team members have made extremely significant contributions to our growth story. While working at Paytm and being involved with its game-changing business is highly fulfilling on its own, we wanted to go a step further and show our deep gratitude for their sense of ownership and deep loyalty towards the company.” Each of the 150 employees will receive a silver iPad Air with 16GB of data. “These employees are good performers. That’s why they have stayed with us,” said Sinha.

In January, Infosys had awarded 3,000 best performing employees an Apple iPhone 6. Paytm will also expand its ESOPs pool, offering it to around 1,200 employees this year as against 600-700 last year.
