Janesh Kumar has joined Genus Power Infrastructures Ltd as the new Chief Human Resource Officer (CHRO), marking a significant milestone in his professional journey. His appointment took effect in July 2025.

With more than two decades of experience across leading organizations such as Airtel, Dr. Reddy’s, Abbott, RPSG, and JSW Steel, Janesh brings deep expertise in HR strategy, cultural transformation, HR tech, and building high-performing teams. He holds an MBA in HR, a B.Tech degree, and is a Certified Executive Coach, blending academic credentials with practical leadership experience.

In an exclusive interaction with People Matters, Janesh outlined his priorities for the first 100 days: “My focus will be on architecting a future-ready, sustainable workforce by fostering a culture of continuous learning, digital readiness, and agility.”

He emphasised aligning talent strategies with Genus Power’s broader transformation agenda, “This means syncing our talent approach with AI and automation ambitions—upskilling employees to thrive alongside cutting-edge tech, embedding inclusivity to spark innovation, and designing flexible frameworks that prioritize well-being and adaptability.”

Looking ahead, he sees HR playing a transformational role in driving Genus Power’s sustainable tech vision, “HR will be a strategic catalyst—co-creating our sustainable tech goals by integrating data-driven insights, ethical AI practices, and a human-centric approach. This will help ensure our people and technology evolve in harmony, delivering long-term impact for the organization and society.”
