AU Small Finance Bank has announced the appointment of Vikash Modi as Head –Human Resources. He brings 26 years of experience in the banking and financial services sector, with expertise in talent strategy, productivity enhancement, and building a high-performance, values-driven culture.

The bank further reinforced its leadership architecture with the induction of two accomplished professionals to its Board of Directors and the appointment of senior executives into critical business and functional roles. These appointments mark a significant step in the Bank’s journey of building institutional depth, strengthening governance frameworks, and enhancing business presence across its growing national footprint.

The welcomed two Independent Directors to its Board, Nandkumar Saravade is among India’s foremost experts in cyber security, fraud risk and regulatory technology. With over three decades of experience across the Reserve Bank Information Technology Private Limited (ReBIT) and the Data Security Council of India, Mr. Saravade brings sharp insight into emerging technology risks and regulatory landscapes, critical as the Bank deepens its digital offerings and safeguards customer trust.

Jagajit Mangal Prasad brings rich experience of over three decades in human capital strategy, having led HR functions across ING Vysya Bank, Kotak Mahindra Life Insurance, Tata Elxsi, and Subex. His expertise in culture-building, leadership development and governance will help guide the Bank through the next phase of responsible and people-first growth.

Other executive appointments

Yogesh Jain, Chief Operating Officer, will now additionally oversee Technology, Digital Banking, Credit Cards, Unsecured Loans and Customer Experience. With over 15 years at AU, Jain has been instrumental in building scalable operations. His expanded mandate brings together critical enablers under a unified leadership structure to accelerate AU’s digital transformation, strengthen the unsecured lending portfolio and enhance customer journeys.

Vivek Tripathi, Chief Credit Officer, will lead the Bank’s consolidated credit function, spanning credit policy, underwriting, portfolio management, collections, and legal recoveries. An IIM Lucknow alumnus and AU veteran of over 11 years, Tripathi brings deep credit expertise and strong risk governance, reinforcing AU’s commitment to maintaining a robust credit culture across asset classes.

Avinash Sharan has been elevated to Head – Branch Banking and will now lead AU’s Urban and Swadesh (Rural) Branch Banking network. A part of AU since the inception of Branch Banking in 2017, he has played a key role in developing a strong, customer-centric liability franchise. His elevation underscores AU’s focus on expanding its physical distribution network and deepening customer engagement across urban and rural markets.

Dhavan Shah joins as Head – Commercial Banking, bringing more than three decades of experience across leading institutions including Yes Bank, HDFC Bank, and ICICI Bank. His appointment strengthens AU’s focus on building a comprehensive commercial banking franchise that serves India’s dynamic business landscape with sector-specific and lifecycle-led solutions.

Kapil Gupta has joined AU Small Finance Bank as Head – Treasury & Financial Markets. He brings over 20 years of experience in fixed income, foreign exchange, and derivatives trading across India and Southeast Asia. In this role, Gupta will lead AU’s treasury strategy, including balance sheet optimisation, interest rate and liquidity management.

Arvind Butola has been elevated to National Business Head - Credit Cards & Unsecured Loans. In his stint of over 4 years in the Bank, he has played an instrumental role in setting up the Product team of Credit Card and Personal Loan at AU and will now additionally focus on accelerating the growth of this business.
