Lal Bahadur Shastri Institute of Management, Delhi (LBSIM) was established in 1995 to commemorate the memory of India’s second Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri. The institute strives to impart value based education in management and IT at an affordable cost thus developing professionals with a humane and pragmatic approach towards corporate excellence. The institute focuses on developing professionals with vision and versatility in accordance with ethics, values, and principles of Lal Bahadur Shastri. The campus has excellent infrastructural facilities and a fully air-conditioned building.

Some of the courses offered by LBSIM are: Two Year Full-Time Post Graduate Diploma in Management, Two Year Full-Time Post Graduate Diploma in Management – Finance, Three Year (Evening) Post Graduate Diploma in Management for Working Executives, 15-Month Full-Time Post Graduate Diploma in Management for Executives, and a Three Year Full-Time Programme in Master of Computer Application (Affiliated to Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, Delhi). All candidates are required to appear in the Common Admission Test (CAT). Candidates shortlisted on the basis of CAT score are then called for Group Discussion, Extempore, and Personal Interview for final selection.

Faculty at LBSIM are highly experienced and a unique teaching methodology is followed to ensure classroom learning is supplemented by real-life field experience. A healthy blend of lectures, seminars, case discussions, group presentations, management games, syndicate discussions and special lectures by industry professionals ensure that students learn in an environment that is experiential, fun, enjoyable and highly conducive. The institute also invites top executives from the corporate world for interaction with the students and faculty on various topics. This not only brings in corporate experience in the classroom but attempts to bridge the gap between theory and practice.

Students are taught the importance of self learning as the institute firmly believes that the best learning is self learning. Other than the traditional classroom learning, the institute has initiated a new way of learning. Students are organized in groups consisting of both first and second year students. Each group is then attached to a faculty member whose task is to encourage the students to scan magazines, read management literature, and exchange learning experience with the other group members. This supports self learning and also promotes student interaction and exchange of ideas amongst each other. Learning through active student industry interaction in the form of practical assignments and projects are also encouraged. The institute also takes regular feedback from the students about course materials and pedagogy. LBSIM's mission is to be a centre of excellence for value-based management and technology education and research through continuous learning, societal responsiveness and strategic partnerships.
