This was a result of a joint initiative taken by the University of Calcutta, the Government of West Bengal, the Government of India and the industry veterans in India. The aim was to set up a premiere management education institute in India. The institute has successfully celebrated its Diamond Jubilee Year signifying 60 years of eventful journey in management education in India since that day. The open and sprawling campus offers a serene and tranquil environment favourable to learning for the students and faculty at IISWBM.

IISWBM offers several full and part time courses. The institute runs MBA programmes during the day and evening. Students are also required to complete the formalities of filling and downloading the institute’s form online.
