Eicher Motors appoints B Govindarajan as Royal Enfield’s CEO

Eicher Motors has seen a 16% increase in consolidated net profit in the quarter that ended in March 2022.
Eicher Motors appoints B Govindarajan as Royal Enfield’s CEO

Royal Enfield has elevated B Govindarajan as the new chief executive officer (CEO). The announcement was made by Eicher Motors, the parent company of Enfield. Since 2021 August, Govindarajan had been serving the company as the executive director, prior to which he was associated as the chief operating officer since 2013.

According to a report carried out by the Times of India, in addition to the role of CEO Govindarajan will also serve as the whole-time director of EML. He has spent over 23 years working across Royal Enfield and Eicher Motors and over the years. His association has contributed to the development of products such as Himalayan, Continental-GT 650, Meteor, Classic 350 and so on.

The announcement of the appointment was made along with the declarations of the company's Q4 FY2022 results. According to the company’s statement, the appointment is a part of their growth strategy and the board believes that Govindarajan’s tenure with the company and his experience will drive growth and take it to the next level.

Commenting on the appointment, Govindarajan said, “As we move forward, we remain focused on creating products and offering experiences that stay true to our philosophy of pure motorcycling. As the supply chain settles and the market starts getting buoyant, we are ready to ramp up and grow Royal Enfield to new heights.”
