Energy Efficiency Services Limited appoints Vishal Kapoor as CEO

Prior to joining EESL, Kapoor also held a number of positions with the Indian Railways and the Ministry of Power.
Energy  Efficiency Services Limited appoints  Vishal Kapoor as CEO

Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL) has announced the appointment of  Vishal Kapoor as its chief executive  officer (CEO). Before joining EESL, he was working with the Ministry of Power as a joint , during which he led  various government interventions, schemes, and reforms in the distribution sector. 

According to a report published by Mint, Kapoor also worked with the Indian Railways in various capacities in design, operations and maintenance of Rolling Stock of Indian Railways. Under his leadership, high-capacity cars carrying freight cars were introduced in India. 

“EESL Group has been at the forefront of India’s journey towards sustainability and self-reliance. The time is now ripe to recognise the potential of energy efficiency, demand side management, electric mobility, and renewables in India’s energy matrix," Kapoor said.

He further added that the government has acknowledged EESL’s potential as the key pillar in leading India towards energy security.

Kapoor graduated in Mechanical Engineering from the Indian Railways Institute of Mechanical & Electrical Engineering (IRIMEE). He holds a Master’s degree from National University of Singapore. Additionally, he has also pursued the Advanced Management Programme in Public Policy from Indian School of Business.
