New civil aviation secretary

The civil aviation ministry has appointed Ashok Lavasa as the new civil aviation secretary to take over from K N Srivastava. He takes up the new post from January 1. The appointment of Lavasa was cleared by the Cabinet earlier this week. He is currently serving the civil service and will have to quit from his current role in order to take up this new assignment.
