New NMCE chief appointed

Retired bureaucrat Krishna Mohan Sahni has been appointed as the Chairman of the National Multi-Commodity Exchange of India Ltd (NMCE). His appointment has been approved by the Forward Markets Commission, which regulates commodity markets in the country. According to Ahmedabad-based NMCE, Sahni was the Union Labour and Employment Secretary during 2004-2006 before he superannuated on December 31, 2006.
