Peter Chang of Asus and Mittu Chandilya of AirAsia India are among a clutch of young CEOs, like 33-year-old Avani Saglani Davda of Starbucks and 34-year old Nishant Rao of LinkedIn, who have taken over corner offices in the last few months, Economic Times reported.
Sluggish growth, tough market conditions and lack of new investments have ensured that not too many top jobs are available in the first place. Nonetheless, in some MNCs — mostly, though not exclusively, tech companies — executives in their 30s continue to land corner office jobs. This is by no means a universal phenomenon with prominent MNCs, notably HUL, appointing relatively older bosses in the recent past.
