Upendra Kamath appointed Tamilnad Mercantile Bank MD
The former Chairman and Managing Director of Vijaya Bank, H S Upendra Kamath, has taken over the reigns of Thoothukudi-headquartered Tamilnad Mercantile Bank Ltd (TMB), as its Managing Director and Chief Executive. He succeeds K B Nagendra Murthy, who retired from service on July 2. Kamath has indicated his intention of making TMB a pan-India bank within a set time-frame, foray into mid-corporate and large corporate funding in a phased manner and the need to leverage IT for business growth and effective risk management.
