Job market in a freeze, need-based hiring peters out

“There's a bloodbath across industries,” says Shiv Agrawal, managing director, ABC Consultants. The job market has gone down by 20% to 25% over one year, with entry- and mid-level jobs hit the hardest, he says. Multiple factors are contributing to the imminent job freeze: an across-the board slowdown, the rupee going into a tailspin, a turbulent political scenario, policy uncertainty and a poor investment climate.
