Mahesh Babu resigns, Suman Mishra joins Mahindra Electric as CEO

Suman has been a part of the Mahindra Group since 2015 and most recently was working as Senior Vice President - Business Transformation, Insights and Analytics (BIA) for the Automotive Sector.
Mahesh Babu resigns, Suman Mishra joins Mahindra Electric as CEO

Mahesh Babu after working with the Mahinda Group for over two decaded has decided to move on. He resigns as CEO Mahindra Electric and gets replaced by Suman Mishra.

Speaking on the recent leadership developments, Rajesh Jejurikar, Executive Director, Auto and Farm Sectors, Mahindra & Mahindra and Chairperson, Mahindra Electric Mobility, said, “Mahesh has been an integral part of our growth journey over the years. He joined us in 1998 and over the last 22 years, he has significantly contributed to the organisation in his various stints in Auto Product Development and then leading Mahindra Electric as CEO."

"I thank Mahesh and wish him all the best for his future endeavours," he added.

Mahesh had taken over as CEO, last year. He has worked in the design and development of engine and vehicle platforms from frugal 3-wheelers to flagship models. In his tenure as CEO, Mahindra Electric he has also built key partnerships with Uber, Zoomcar, LG Chem, Blu Smart, Lithium Urban Technology, and Auroville.

As Mahesh resigns, Suman joins as Chief Executive of MEML as a full-time director and will also be the Chief Executive Designate for the Last Mile Mobility business (LMM). She gets elevated from her current role of Senior Vice President - Business Transformation, Insights and Analytics (BIA) for the Automotive Sector. She will report to Rajesh Jejurikar, Executive Director, Auto and Farm Sectors, Mahindra and Mahindra Ltd.

Suman has over 20 years of global experience across strategy and end-to-end performance transformation across sales, manufacturing, purchasing, products, costs, and supply chain. She joined the Mahindra Group in 2015 as Senior VP, Group Strategy Office and has played a key role in shaping and implementing strategies across automotive business, agri, hospitality, real estate, and electric vehicles. Before joining Mahindra Group, she has worked with Cipla and McKinsey, where she led performance transformations and business turnaround across multiple companies. Mishra is an MBA from University of Michigan, Ross School of Business and a Computer Engineer from NTU Singapore. 

Speaking on the recent appointment Rajesh said, "Suman is an accomplished business leader with global experience of leading transformation projects across multiple sectors. Electric mobility is a key focus area for us, and we have put in place a robust strategy to capitalize on opportunities in Last Mile Mobility and the launch of our Born EV platform. I am confident that Suman will help us achieve our growth targets. I wish her the best in her new role”.
