WeWork, the global network of collaborative spaces, has also announced that it will open up job opportunities for jet employees affected by the recent suspension of operations. As a part of this initiative, WeWork will actively consider job applications from Jet employees for openings across marketing, sales, community management, and sales.
WeWork is opening up opportunities for Jet employees to be a part of the global shared community. In light of the troubled times, WeWork, through this initiative, would be pleased to invite Jet employees to join their team and create a global impact.
Ryan Bennett, Co-CWeO, WeWork India stated, “Our rapid growth across the world has also been mirrored in India with a growing footprint and headcount. Our journey in India, characterized by robust growth and expansion has our diverse and skilled talent at its center. Continuing with our belief in offering avenues for promising talent, this initiative is a conscious step in this direction wherein they can become a part of this journey and impact the world.”
The interested candidates can send their resumes to email@example.com, an email ID created specifically for applications from Jet employees, along with an updated CV. The profile will be considered on priority for any of the open roles across verticals.
Through this effort, WeWork joins a host of other companies such as SpiceJet and Lowe's India which have come to the rescue of stranded Jet Airways employees. SpiceJet is absorbing more than 500 former employees of Jet Airways. These include about 100 pilots and is likely to hire more as SpiceJet continues to get additional aircrafts up in the air. Meanwhile, Lowe's India, the technology products and solutions centre for Lowe's Companies, has also offered to recruit employees from the IT division of Jet Airways. Startups like CureFit have also offered to provide employment to the distressed workers at Jet.
While these efforts will provide some temporary relief, the number of displaced employees runs over 16,000, and landing an alternative job will be a daunting reality for them.
