IT execs re-skill themselves

A large number of mid-career IT executives are scrambling to re-skill themselves in newer technologies to counter the threat of obsolescence and job loss. The skills which are in demand among recruiters include Hadoop, new generation database query languages such as NoSQL and Cassandra, an open source software for large database management. Cloud computing software skills from Amazon, Microsoft, and VMWare are also in demand.
