Wipro has launched a soft skills program for undergraduates from non-engineering colleges to improve their employability in the BPO and IT sectors. The 60-hour programme will consist of technology-backed modules in a self-paced format, that give students the flexibility to work through the modules over three monthsalong with their graduation. In addition to the e-learning modules, the program has periodic classroom connect programmes, wherein students can interact with trainers. The curriculum designing and training methodology is in line with Nasscom’s the IT-ITES Sector Skills Council (SSC).
This programme consists of a ‘Business Communication Skills’ module provided by TaraSpan Solutions, a training organisation and a ‘Corporate Readiness’ module that has been developed by Wipro. Students who successfully complete the programme will be awarded a certification after Wipro assesses it. The certification will enable them eligible for a placement at Wipro, if they are able to successfully clear even a single round of interview.
