Patna tops in unemployment
In a Government survey to record the unemployment rate among males in 2009-10 in Indian cities, Patna recorded the highest unemployment rate. The survey conducted by the National Sample Survey Organisation (NSSO) showed that unemployment rate also rose considerable among women. The overall unemployment, however, in urban India has declined compared to the situation 5 years back. Even among women Patna showed the highest rate of unemployment among women, followed by Chennai and Pune. Gujarat showed the best performance among among all other Indian states.
