Samsung to not appoint any successor

Samsung India has decided not to appoint any successor for its outgoing mobile business head Vineet Taneja and, instead, let his Korean ‘parallel coordinator‘ K Kang lead the business under the supervision of managing director (sales) SK Kim. ‘Parallel coordinator‘ is a role in the Korean management structure that is at the parallel level of an Indian executive with the primarily responsibility to coordinate with the headquarters. As per the new structure, three Indian executives will work under both Kim and Kang, the industry sources said. Asim Warsi, who used to head South and West regions, has been made chief of marketing and product for Samsung India‘s mobile business while Mohandeep Singh, who has been heading North and East, will head sales, and Raju Pullan will lead supply chain, they said.
