In the past two years, jobs for Data Scientists have surged exponentially across sectors. The report suggests that more than 20,000 jobs opened up for the role with a median salary of Rs 25, 00,000. The top companies which hired for this role included Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), Flipkart, Hewlett-Packard (HP) India, Wipro, Samsung R&D India.
AI Engineers
This role saw around 8000 jobs in the year 2018. The average pay for this role has been Rs 20,00,000. Top hiring companies for this role have been Intel, Amazon India, Accenture India, Wipro Digital, Infosys, finds the report.
Cloud architects
With an average salary of around Rs 18-30 lakh, Cloud Architect witnessed around 14,000 jobs this year, according to the report. The top companies which hired for this role include Microsoft India, Wipro, HCL, IBM India, Tech Mahindra.
Cybersecurity experts
With around 36,000 jobs, cybersecurity experts saw an average salary of around Rs 22-32 lakhs. The top companies that hired for this role include IBM India, Infosys, Dell India, HP India, Amazon India.
Digital Project Managers
With up to Rs 24 lakhs in remuneration, this role that handles the digital transformation a company, witnessed around 18,000 jobs in India this year. Companies including Tech Mahindra, Accenture India, Wipro, Philips India, Tata Communications, Reliance Jio majorly hired for this role.
While the roles like Data Scientists, AI Engineers, and Digital Project Managers were high-in-demand, we also observed that filling these roles were a challenge for organizations due to lack of skills. According to a survey done by People Matters and Manipal ProLearn, we found skills like AI, Cloud Computing, Big Data, etc. are high-in-demand (most desired) but least available.
