Washington-based company, Apptio is looking to expand in India. The cloud computing and financial management software firm, plans to triple its team of data scientists and developers in Bengaluru by the end of 2019.

It will hire 300 people comprising data scientists and developers in India over the next two years. 

"Apptio is in the process of developing a permanent, state of the art Apptio office for 300 people in Bengaluru. The buildout is expected to start in October 2019 and be ready for occupancy in early 2020," shared the company in a statement. 

The demand for data scientists have been on the rise as more and more organizations have been turning to analytics. 

There has been an overall growth in the number of jobs in analytics and data science. India contributing 6 percent the pool of these available jobs. The total number of analytics and data science job positions available are 97,000. Out of these, 97 percent job openings in India are on a full-time basis while 3 percent are part-time or contractual. 

Bengaluru, in fact leads the jobs market with a mature analytics ecosystem accounting for 24 percent of analytics jobs in India. Considering the findings of these reports, Apptio has taken a good decision by choosing Bengaluru to open its Centre of Excellence.
